Transvaginal Mesh

Medical work in ICU wardMany women who have had a transvaginal mesh (TVM) implant (also known as a pelvic mesh implant or bladder sling) suffer from painful, serious side effects, even after revision surgeries. Tens of thousands of woman have experienced these side effects and filed suits against various transvaginal mesh manufacturers, including American Medical Systems (AMS), Boston Scientific, C.R. Bard, Inc., Covidien and Johnson & Johnson.

The TVM implants were used to correct pelvic organ prolapse (POP) or stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Many women have suffered injuries associated with defective pelvic mesh products.  These injuries include:

  • Surgeries to repair, remove, or trim the mesh
  • Perforations of the bowel, bladder or blood vessels
  • Chronic vaginal drainage
  • Reoccurrence of POP or SUI
  • Urinary problems
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Vaginal infections
  • Vaginal pain not related to intercourse
  • Vaginal scarring
  • Erosion of the vaginal tissue
  • Feeling as though something is protruding from the vagina
  • Lower back pain
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Pressure or feeling of “fullness” in the lower abdomen

Thousands of lawsuits have already been filed seeking compensation for these injuries.
